MapleStory N Launches May 15 on Avalanche

MapleStory is officially going Web3.

MapleStory N, the first blockchain-based title in the iconic franchise, is launching on May 15—and it’s happening on Avalanche.

Backed by Nexon and developed by its blockchain-focused subsidiary Nexpace, MapleStory N brings the classic 2D side-scrolling gameplay into the Web3 world. Players will be able to own, trade, and manage in-game assets on-chain, thanks to a fully integrated Avalanche Layer 1 chain called Henesys, which went live last month.

This isn’t a small experiment. During testing, the game recorded over 31.5 million on-chain transactions and nearly 1 million wallets registered—clear signs that the MapleStory community is ready for this next chapter.

MapleStory N is also kicking off what Nexpace calls the MapleStory Universe, an ecosystem designed around community contribution, tradable game assets, and a new token-driven reward model called Reward Experience 2.0. Players will even be able to create and contribute content to the world and earn tokens for doing so.

Originally planned for Polygon, the project shifted to Avalanche in 2024 to support a smoother gaming experience.

This is more than nostalgia—it’s a bold attempt to blend one of gaming’s most beloved IPs with real digital ownership. And with 250 million players in the franchise’s history, all eyes will be on May 15.

MapleStory N will launch on PC first.
