Ready to load up your Immutable Passport and snag some in-game assets? Let’s walk through the steps to get you set up.
First, a Quick Checklist:
- What chain is your game on? Immutable supports two chains: Immutable X and Immutable zkEVM. A game can be on either one, so it’s important to know which chain your game is using. For example:
- Guild of Guardians is on zkEVM.
- Illuvium is on Immutable X.
- What tokens will you need? Different assets may require different tokens for purchase. Some might need USDC, others ETH, and some may require $IMX. Be sure to double-check which token is needed for your specific transaction.
Note: Passport is a Layer 2 wallet – both Immutable zkEVM and Immutable X are Layer 2 chains built on top of Ethereum. This means that when adding funds to your Passport, you’ll be moving them from Layer 1 to Layer 2.
Important: If you're trying to fund Immutable zkEVM, sending funds directly from a wallet or centralized exchange on Ethereum (Layer 1) or any other chain won’t work and may result in lost funds!
How to Add Funds to Your Immutable Passport
For Immutable zkEVM:
On your Passport dashboard, you have several ways to add funds:
- Buy or Swap: Use Transak (supports $IMX, ETH, USDC).
- Bridge from a CEX: Use Layerswap (supports $IMX, ETH, USDC, and $GOG).
- Bridge from another EVM chain or Ethereum (L1): Use Squid (supports $IMX, ETH, USDC, and more!) or Layerswap (supports $IMX, ETH, USDC, and $GOG).
- Native Bridge via Axelar: Move $IMX, ETH, or USDC from Ethereum (L1) to zkEVM.
For a step-by-step guide on this process, check out the full tutorial [here].
For Immutable X:
On your Passport dashboard, you can fund using:
- Debit Card: Use Moonpay (supports $IMX, ETH, USDC, and $GODS).
- Bridge from another EVM chain or Ethereum (L1): Use Layerswap (supports $IMX, ETH, USDC, and $GODS).
And there you have it! Once your funds are loaded, you’re all set to start purchasing assets and diving into the action.
